A Pink Christmas

"Christmas now surrounds us,
Happiness is everywhere
Our hands are busy with many tasks
As carols fill the air."
                ~Shirley Sallay

December is almost upon us and my list is out with all of the presents that I need to buy! It can be a little stressful sometimes but mostly I love the planning and wrapping and decorating. I know the time will pass too quickly and I want to enjoy every minute! This year I am longing for pink in my decorations which is INCREDIBLY hard to find! I have had my tinsel tree with the pink German ornaments for many years and this year I found some beautiful roses to decorate with. I also bought the pink stocking and embellished it to give to my Mum who doesn't have one! I hope you enjoy this little glimpse into my pink Christmas!

Honey B's Pinboard

"It is good to love many things,
for therein lies the true strength,
and whosoever loves much performs
much, and can accomplish much,
and what is done in love is well done."
                 ~Vincent Van Gogh

I love pinboards! I've had a few as you know. I love little pinboards and big pinboards. I love thin frames painted in pretty colours and filled with chicken wire and ornate antique frames with fabric and push pins. I love corkboards and magnet boards, quilted ribbons, and clips. I love collages and magazine clippings spread over an invisible canvas in haphazard array. I even love online pinboards such as pinterest where I can see the beautiful things that inspire others! I will probably always have a pinboard in my home that I can fill with the bits and bobs that set me dreaming. ...So what could this blog post possibly be about today? Well my new pinboard of course! I recently purchased possibly the prettiest pinboard that I have ever seen from the wonderful Honey B's and I have had so much fun decorating it! It is covered in a beautiful floral fabric with satin ribbons and is so very romantic. Where do you keep your inspiration?

I am also very excited to have been featured on the stunning bridal inspiration blog So Dearly Beloved! It is full of beautiful fine art wedding photography and resources for your special day. My fairytale Fall pumpkins are included in the decor section! I am also a concierge in their directory as well. Be sure to have a look at all of the incredible beauty they have to offer!

Christmas Whimsy

"Never worry about the
size of your Christmas tree.
In the eyes of children, they
are all 30 feet tall."
         ~Larry Wilde,
          The Merry Book of Christmas

I don't know where the year is going! December is fast approaching and for the first time ever I feel a little like I am playing catch up! (That is most unlike me since I am one of those irritating people who likes to have everything planned and ready before the holiday month even begins!). I'm sorry I haven't posted recently but I have been quite sick with the flu. I am all better now and have been unboxing my Christmas things slowly and enjoying seeing all of the beautiful decor appearing in the shops. My mood is a little whimsical this year and nostalgic for childhood. Some would say that Christmas is made for children and I definitely feel that sense of magic and wonder when this time of year rolls around. I thought I would take some photos for you of a few things my sister and I have brought home lately from children's shops (she has a little girl so she has an excuse - I'm just a kid at heart!) I bought the gorgeous tulle fairy dress from Pottery Barn Kids and added my own little touches to it. The little kitty doll also came home with me from there and I fancied her a bit with flowers, ribbons, and jewels. The sweet house boxes are from Gold Frankincense Myrrh and they are just adorable! The fluffy reindeer doll was a find from Papyrus and the pink doll furniture came from a local gift shop. I am hard at work right now on Christmas decor for my Etsy shop so I hope you will keep checking there for things to arrive!
