Birthday Fun!

"The more you praise and
celebrate your life, the more
there is in life to celebrate."
               ~Oprah Winfrey

Today was my birthday and it was a lovely day spent celebrating with my family. I was surrounded by love and generosity and I feel very blessed! I wanted to share a few pictures with you from the day! ...

Soft and Sweet

"I live in my own little world.
But it's okay, they know me here."
                   ~Lauren Myracle

It was the May long weekend this past weekend but I was so busy that I didn't have any time to relax and really enjoy it! - so today I have carved out some time to spend taking pictures and de-stressing. It's amazing how many small and simple things can bring me pleasure. The fact that it was warm and sunny enough that I could take a little walk made me near giddy! Perhaps it is finally time for Spring! I even had some time to make two lace gillyflowers for the shop! Be sure to take a peek at them and the few other treasures I listed there. These photos are of a little vignette I set up on the coffee table with a new little tea tray of mine. I purchased it black and painted it a shabby cream colour. Happy Spring!

China Lover

"I must have flowers, always,
and always."
         ~Claude Monet

Spring cleaning is underway and I have been tidying and sorting - moving things here and there and I thought while everything was out I would take some photos! It all looked so pretty spread out on the dining room table. You all know how much I love antique china. This is a collection of mostly Limoges china all painted with pink roses (of course!). I love the soft colours and the pretty shapes. European china, especially Limoges and Prussian, is all so delicately crafted. I am always on the hunt for that special piece!

Pretty Pink Roses

"Sweet spring, full of sweet
days and roses..."
      ~George Herbert

This is my "wishful thinking" post. It is still snowing and cold outside but the shops have decided that it is spring here in Canada so I bought a bouquet of beautiful pink roses and proceeded to pretend right along with them! These roses were so beautiful and in spite of the weather they lasted quite a few days and had a lovely scent. I kept them long for awhile and then cut off the heads and put them in a bowl. Happy spring!

Here are some new spring inspired pretties in the Etsy Shop:
